BUSINESS GLOBAL BRIGADE

PANAMA

Through the Global Brigades organization, I traveled with 25 other students to Ipedi Guna, Panama, a financially underdeveloped community in the winter of 2016. I assisted a group of local female artisans develop their brand for marketing purposes. This included developing a logo, story and social media materials. We developed their brand around their name, "Nisbundorkan" which meant "women of the star" in their native language. Their products ranged in everything from purses, bracelets, headbands and traditional clothing attire called "molas". In addition to marketing materials, I assisted in analyzing business finances and inventory records, along with leading leadership and financial literacy workshops.
